This region is also commended for its food scene, with the popular restaurant Port Petit being based just under 5-minutes away. This fine-dining establishment showcases a divine range of delicious menu options, such as the indulgent lobster risotto as well as fresh prawns served with pineapple carpaccio and sweet chilli. Port Petit also has an in-house pastry chef who expertly crafts an array of sweet treats, such as homemade macaroons and a traditional apple pie.
If you are a lover of golf, a trip to Vall d’Or Golf Club is a real treat. This far-reaching 18-hole course is surrounded by a plethora of idyllic landscapes, helping to create a sense of atmosphere for every game. The course is also filled with unique fairways and bunkers, building an intricate and complex game for any level of player. Plus, Vall d’Or Golf Club was also voted one of the top 50 golf courses in the entirety of Europe, further signifying its immense success. The Mondrago Nature Park is made up of four main hiking trails, allowing guests to explore the region’s impeccable landscapes with ease. This park is also very popular with bird watchers due to the rare birds that call this land their home. Guests can also observe a range of other unique creatures, such as Algerian hedgehogs, hares, and genets, giving them a glimpse into the biodiversity of this area. There is also a quaint restaurant located inside the park known as Restaurant Sa Font n’Alis. This establishment serves an assortment of authentic Mediterranean dishes, allowing guests to gain a true taste of this incredible region. THE REGION
Cala d'Or – or the 'Golden Bay' – is a popular beach area on the southeast coast of Mallorca, south of Portocolom and neighbouring the coastal town of Portopetro. In Cala d'Or you really get an all-round holiday experience with wonderful beaches, interesting excursions, well-preserved nature and varied nightlife.
Cala d'Or is an excellent spot for a beach holiday thanks to its impressive facilities and wonderful beaches. Huge fun is the mini 'train' which runs along the roads for holidaymakers between the main resort and beaches. The town is also a great base for exploring some of the best natural and historical sights that southeast Mallorca has to offer.

Best Suited For: All AgesCala d’Or is a perfect spot for families. If you visit in May, you can enjoy the renowned Cala d’Or Jazz Festival, a lively event held in various pubs and clubs in the town centre since 1994. It's a great opportunity to experience local music without spending money, as all concerts are free. The festival usually runs from late May to early June.
For sports enthusiasts, the Cala d’Or Tennis Club offers five well-maintained clay courts. You can rent equipment there, so you don’t need to bring your own. After your game, unwind at the club’s bar. Just make sure to book the courts in advance. The club is located a short 5-minute drive away.
About half an hour from Cala d’Or, the Drach Caves are a must-see attraction. These caves stretch for 1200 meters and are 25 meters deep, showcasing fascinating stalactites and stalagmites. Visitors can take a boat trip on an underground lake, accompanied by classical music echoing through the vast chambers. It's a captivating experience for those interested in exploring a unique underground world.

Perfect Match
Villa Merlange suites us perfectly and the location was excellent. Although advised otherwise there was a hairdryer present and beach towels were provided.
