Overview
Set in a residential area just a ten minute walk from the picturesque village of Deia, Can Estell offers you a fantastic location, stunning sea views and high-end accommodation, a perfect combination for a family or group of friends.
A traditionally stone Mallorcan house, the villa is full of character with cool terracotta floors, traditionally high ceilings and wooden beams and it has been furnished to a very high standard. You will also find pieces of art created by local artists, as this area is well known for so close to the bohemian and stylish village of Deia.
The bright and airy living room has beautiful floors, white washed walls, comfortable and cosy sofas and a traditional fire-place, perfect whether it’s for quiet evenings with a book or socialising with your holiday companions. The well equipped kitchen-diner has everything you need to cook the catch of the day from the nearby coast or you may prefer to pre-book a chef to spoil you for part of your stay.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed and a magnificent bath in the ensuite room, its own dressing room and a terrace with panoramic sea-views. There are two further ensuite bedrooms, one twin and one double, the latter leads straight to the pool terrace. All three rooms have been decorated with simplicity and furnished with style, a mixture of traditional high-end furnishings and modern touches.
The marvellous swimming pool and sunbathing terraces around also enjoy stunning sea-views, as do the lovely terraces at the front of the villa, with tables and chairs for al-fresco dining and comfortable sofas for gazing at the scenery. There is a further dining terrace and outdoor BBQ just by the swimming pool for lazy lunches or dining under the stars.
Deia is an idyllic village on the west coast of Mallorca, perched high up with stunning views down to the crystal clear seas. With a stunning backdrop of the ‘Sierra de Tramuntana’, the beautiful village is typically Mediterranean with green shuttered stone houses and narrow streets of pretty boutiques, art galleries, upmarket restaurants, cafes and Mallorquin tapas bars. It is very popular with tourists in the summer, with good reason as visitors come to experience the arty and bohemian vibe, just like the late Robert Graves did when he lived in the village in the nineteeth century.
Cala Deia is a beautiful sheltered pebble cove, a twenty five minute steep walk downhill from the village (or a five minutes drive) where you will find a superb rustic seafood restaurant overlooking the sea.
The pretty town of Soller is a dramatic 10km drive away, a beautiful town so popular with walkers or tourists looking to get off the beaten track. Take the old wood panelled train through the orange groves from Soller to Palma for a day trip to the magnificent city.
What you should know…
- Deia can be very busy in the summer months, understandably so as it is such a picturesque village
- Amazing views from the terraces upstairs, you will need to keep an eye on the little ones in your family around the balcony railings

Location
About the surrounding area of Can EstelDeia is a small idyllic village on the west coast of Mallorca, perched high up with stunning views down to the crystal clear seas. With a stunning backdrop of the ‘Sierra de Tramuntana’, the beautiful village is typically Mediterranean with green shuttered stone houses and narrow streets of pretty boutiques, art galleries, upmarket restaurants, cafes and Mallorquin tapas bars.
It has been welcoming artists, musicians and writers for years and has a bohemian vibe. Visitors flock to the village not only for the outstanding beauty and character but also to visit the grave and former house, now a museum, of Robert Graves who lived here in the nineteenth century when the artistic scene flourished and continues today.
The Moors, who named the area ‘Ad-Daya’ meaning ‘village’, created the terraced irrigation system that slows steep hillsides to be cultivated and today the olive groves still cover much of the hillside in and around the town.
Cala Deia is a beautiful sheltered pebble cove, a thirty minute steep walk downhill from the village (or a five minutes drive) where you will find a superb rustic seafood restaurant overlooking the sea. Fishermen still set out their boats at night so you can enjoy their haul.
The island of Mallorca is a walker’s paradise as there is a network of paths and ancient mule tracks across the Serra de Tramuntana, so close to Deia. The area is also popular with mountain bikers who can enjoy the dramatic and stunning mountain and sea-view scenery. Tennis courts can be hired in the village and there are various golf clubs on the island, the closest being Son Termens about 18km away.
If you hire a car you can discover the beautiful island of Mallorca, especially the north-west corner which is a world away from some of the more touristy resorts on the island. The pretty town of Soller is a dramatic 10km drive away, here you can enjoy the ambience with a glass of wine on the town square with the Sant Bartomeu church or find one of the many walking paths, such as those to the picturesque villages of Biniaraix and Fornalutx.
The beautiful city of Palma is yours to discover and what better way to travel there than via the 1912 wood panelled train that takes you through the orange and lemon groves for the 28km journey from Soller to Palma.

THE REGION
The small coastal village of Deià, on the northwest coast of Mallorca, is one of the prettiest villages on the island. Perched in a ravine at the foot of the Teix mountain, with views out to the Mediterranean below, Deià has long been a magnet for famous artists, writers and other creative people – most notably the writer Robert Graves.
Much of the Deià’s appeal lies in its laid-back vibe and blissful surroundings, making a stay here highly conducive to rest and relaxation amidst some very impressive views of the blue sea and stunning mountains. Visitors tend to opt for pleasurable eating and drinking experiences, with some enjoyable walks or hikes and trips to Deià ’s small but very pretty Cala.

Wonderful villa
The villa is beautiful and clean, and very spacious - the pictures do not do it justice. It should have a floor plan to let you truly appreciate all it has to offer. All the rooms are very big, there is also a gym and huge laundry room on the lower ground floor, along with the third bedroom.
Several features are missed on the description - all bedrooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans, there is a dishwasher and a full suite of TV channels including UK Sky TV with all the sports.
Few things I will say is, the pool is deep (around 2 metres at the deepest point) so watch the kids. It is also a 15 minute walk to Deia town centre, probably longer if you have kids or it is really hot.
But it is wonderful, would happily stay again or put an offer in when I win the lottery! -
Excellent stay
Beautiful House. Beautiful destination.
What makes it better tough is Rosa Salas. She was an angel from the first moment we had arrived Majorca, to the last minute.
House had everything we need.
we will definitely come back.
Thank you.
