Overview

Pool Modern Walk to Village Romantic

Just minutes from the heart of Deia, in the Son Canals area of the village, this delightful three bedroom villa with its own swimming pool is the ideal holiday home for relaxing in beautiful surroundings as well as exploring this stunning part of Mallorca.

Can Flor has a relaxed and inviting feel with the open-plan living-dining room and kitchen decorated with warm colours contrasting the white washed walls and traditional wood beamed ceilings. French windows open up to the various patios where you can dine al-fresco listening to the birdsong and church bells, laze on the sun-loungers under the ancient olive tree or dip in the lovely swimming pool.  Around the villa you have panoramic views of the village and mountains, you will feel you are in the heart of a very special community here.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, all of them with cool tiled floors and characterful wood beamed ceilings and decorated with simple and homely style. All three bath or shower rooms, two of them upstairs, are bright and modern and there is ample storage space in the main two bedrooms. One of the doubles leads to a beautiful terrace where you can soak up the sun with the relaxing countryside views around you.

Deia, just a short walk away, is a small idyllic village, perched high up with stunning views down to the crystal clear seas. With a stunning backdrop of the ‘Sierra de Tramuntana’, the beautiful village is typically Mediterranean with green shuttered stone houses and narrow streets of pretty boutiques, art galleries, upmarket restaurants, cafes and Mallorquin tapas bars.

The island of Mallorca is a walker’s paradise as there is a network of paths and ancient mule tracks across the Serra de Tramuntana, so close to Deia.  The area is also popular with mountain bikers who can enjoy the dramatic and stunning mountain and sea-view scenery. Tennis courts can be hired in the village and there are various golf clubs on the island, the closest being Son Termens about 18km away.

Whether a small group of friends or a family trip, Can Flor manages to combine a lovely village location with mesmerising views and every comfort you need for a truly memorable holiday in this spectacular and unspoilt part of the island.

What you should know…

  • The swimming pool isn't huge - just slightly bigger than a plunge pool, but perfect for cooling off on hot summer days

Deia is a small idyllic village on the west coast of Mallorca, perched high up with stunning views down to the crystal clear seas. With a stunning backdrop of the ‘Sierra de Tramuntana’, the beautiful village is typically Mediterranean with green shuttered stone houses and narrow streets of pretty boutiques, art galleries, upmarket restaurants, cafes and Mallorquin tapas bars.

It has been welcoming artists, musicians and writers for years and has a bohemian vibe. Visitors flock to the village not only for the outstanding beauty and character but also to visit the grave and former house, now a museum, of Robert Graves who lived here in the nineteenth century when the artistic scene flourished and continues today.

The Moors, who named the area ‘Ad-Daya’ meaning ‘village’, created the terraced irrigation system that slows steep hillsides to be cultivated and today the olive groves still cover much of the hillside in and around the town.

Cala Deia is a beautiful sheltered pebble cove, a thirty minute steep walk downhill from the village (or a five minutes drive) where you will find a superb rustic seafood restaurant overlooking the sea. Fishermen still set out their boats at night so you can enjoy their haul.

If you hire a car you can discover the beautiful island of Mallorca, especially the north-west corner which is a world away from some of the more touristy resorts on the island.  The pretty town of Soller is a dramatic 10km drive away, here you can enjoy the ambience with a glass of wine on the town square with the Sant Bartomeu church or find one of the many walking paths, such as those to the picturesque villages of Biniaraix and Fornalutx.

The beautiful city of Palma is yours to discover and what better way to travel there than via the 1912 wood panelled train that takes you through the orange and lemon groves for the 28km journey from Soller to Palma.

THE REGION

The small coastal village of Deià, on the northwest coast of Mallorca, is one of the prettiest villages on the island. Perched in a ravine at the foot of the Teix mountain, with views out to the Mediterranean below, Deià has long been a magnet for famous artists, writers and other creative people – most notably the writer Robert Graves.

Much of the Deià’s appeal lies in its laid-back vibe and blissful surroundings, making a stay here highly conducive to rest and relaxation amidst some very impressive views of the blue sea and stunning mountains. Visitors tend to opt for pleasurable eating and drinking experiences, with some enjoyable walks or hikes and trips to Deià ’s small but very pretty Cala.
