Location
About the surrounding area of Cas FusteretCas Fusteret is situated just under 5 minutes away from the centre of Pollensa, a region that is well-celebrated for its charming pace of life and its diverse portfolio of iconic landmarks. One of the area’s most significant monuments is Formentor Lighthouse, which can be found just over 40 minutes away from the villa. First crafted in 1863, this looming lighthouse was designed to protect small and delicate fishing boats from the impregnable rocks that are based at the bottom of the shore. This monument is also a key aspect of European literature, becoming a key source of inspiration for prolific writers such as Gerardo Diego. As such, guests are encouraged to take a short drive toward the top of the monument and bask in the panoramic views that surround them.
Placa de l’Alomonia is another key historical landmark and is considered to be a real treat for any history lover. This bustling square is home to a large house that was once run by a collection of affluent university students. These individuals often used their own money to feed and care for the community’s peasant population. This square also hosted a ferocious battle back on the 15th of May 1550 when a collection of violent attackers decided to ambush the town. In order to celebrate the bravery of these citizens, the modern-day population holds a moving ceremony every August. Placa de l’Alomonia is based around 5 minutes away from Cas Fusteret.
If you wish to learn more about the alluring nuances of the European art scene, you must take the time to visit the Pollensa Museum. This establishment was first used as a vast storage unit in order to protect a unique collection of Gothic altarpieces. These items were celebrated in their own right and even received praise at the prestigious Summer Exhibition of Painting back in the 1960s. Nowadays, guests can examine every element of this mesmerising attraction and even get up close and personal with the eclectic works of Atillo Boveri. An added bonus of this landmark is that it is free to enter, making it an ideal option for those travelling on a budget. The Pollensa Museum is located just a few minutes away from the villa.

THE REGION
Pollensa, in the north of the island, is an ancient town of attractive narrow streets and an impressive main square, lined with cafés, restaurants and bars, and is just a few kilometres from Port de Pollensa.
The town has several places of interest to visit, including the Roman bridge, signposted ‘Pont Roma’, which is still in use, and the Puig de Pollensa – a small mountain topped by a monastery just outside the town. Here we provide all the information you want to know to make the most of this relaxed yet culturally satisfying inland town.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesPollensa is teeming with alluring and attractive landmarks, making it an admirable holiday destination for the whole family. If you wish to gain a better sense of the local culture, a trip to the Pollensa Market is a must-do activity. This market presents over 300 stalls, all of which offer a unique assortment of handmade items, including artisan handbags, clothes, and jewellery. Thus, this is an incredible attraction to visit if you are eager to pick up a few items to remind you of your wonderful time in this amazing area. Guests can also browse through an incredible selection of fresh produce, meaning that they can pick up a few ingredients to use in their own cooking back at the villa. The Pollensa Market can be found just a stone’s throw away from the villa and occurs every Sunday from 8 am till 1:30 pm.
For those travelling with particularly adventurous and curious children, you must take the time to visit Alzinaret Caves. Though these structures were first discovered in 1927, it is said that they date all the way back to 1600 BC. As a result, guests are free to examine the intricate nature of these caves and marvel at artefacts from the Middle Bronze Age from a much more intimate and personal perspective. In addition, there is even a collection of benches placed outside of the caves for guests who do not feel comfortable entering inside. Alzinaret Caves are based just under 10 minutes away from Cas Fusteret.
Puig de Maria is a deeply mesmerising and thought-provoking monument that is located just a stone’s throw away from the villa. This remarkable 14th-century monastery can be found at the very top of a 330-metre summit and was once regarded as a devoted shrine to the Virgin Mary. This building has experienced a variety of transformations in its time and now embodies a traditional 19th-century exterior in order to adhere to the themes seen throughout the Gothic period. In turn, guests are encouraged to marvel at a wide variety of artefacts and fixtures in order to discover more about this region’s impressive history and religious legacy. It should also be noted that it only takes around 30 minutes to climb to the top of this peak, making it a fairly accessible hike for most guests.
