Location
About the surrounding area of Casa Metge VidalCasa Metge Vidal is based just a stone's throw away from the centre of Pollensa, a region well recognised for its iconic landmarks and intoxicating atmosphere. One of the area's most significant religious landmarks is Puig de Maria, just over 5 minutes from the villa. At the top of this looming 330 metres summit sits a quaint 14th-century monastery that was once regarded as a devoted shrine to the Virgin Mary. Despite its far-reaching history, this monument was transformed during the 18th century in order to help it adhere to the Gothic and Barque themes seen throughout this period. Thus, guests are encouraged to take the 30-minute hike towards this landmark and bask in the marvellous views below.
The Pollensa Market is an unmissable landmark for those looking to immerse themselves deeper into the nuances of this area. Complete with over 300 stalls; guests will now have the chance to browse through a plethora of artisan stalls and pick up a few souvenirs, such as handmade jewellery and bags, to show off back home. Alongside these items, this market also focuses on a ton of fresh produce, ensuring that guests can use a range of new ingredients in their cooking back at the villa. The Pollensa Market can be found just a few minutes away from Casa Metge Vidal and welcomes guests every Sunday from 8 am to 1:30 pm (although make sure to check this, as this can vary).
If you are eager to explore an immense underworld during your time on holiday, you must take the time to visit Alzinaret Caves. Although these caves were first discovered in 1927 by Wilfred Hemp, many experts believe they date back to 1600 BC. Therefore, guests are free to meander through the intriguing structures as they marvel at the beautiful artefacts from the Middle Bronze Age. If you do not feel comfortable entering the caves, there are a set of benches located outside of the entrance to allow you to watch the world go by. Aliznaret Caves are situated just over 10 minutes away from the villa.

THE REGION
Pollensa, in the north of the island, is an ancient town of attractive narrow streets and an impressive main square, lined with cafés, restaurants and bars, and is just a few kilometres from Port de Pollensa.
The town has several places of interest to visit, including the Roman bridge, signposted ‘Pont Roma’, which is still in use, and the Puig de Pollensa – a small mountain topped by a monastery just outside the town. Here we provide all the information you want to know to make the most of this relaxed yet culturally satisfying inland town.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesPollensa also hosts an array of family-friendly attractions, making it a very popular holiday destination amongst avid travellers. If you are visiting this riveting region in November, you must take the time to visit the eclectic La Fira trade fair. First established in 1784, this fair is considered a key aspect of the local culture. During your time here, you will come across a vast selection of authentic wicker goods, including bags and hats. In turn, this is an excellent attraction to visit if you wish to explore the unique history of this region from an entirely new perspective. La Fira trade fair usually occurs on the second Sunday of November and often runs until the following Tuesday.
If you consider yourself to be an avid history lover, a trip to Placa de l'Alomina is a real treat. This charming square is home to a charming house that was once run by a collection of university students. These individuals were known for using their money to feed and care for some of the area's poorest citizens. In addition, this square also hosted a ferocious battle on the 30th of May 1550, which saw the local people try to defend themselves against a series of vicious ambushers. To commend their bravery, the modern citizens hold a moving ceremony every August to help reunite the community. Placa de l’Alomina can be found just a short distance away from Casa Metge Vidal.
For those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, a trip to the Joan March Gardens is an ideal way to do so. These gardens were initially built to celebrate the eldest son of the March family, who helped to transform this sleepy town into a prosperous hub of economic activity. Thus, guests are now able to marvel at a diverse collection of horticulture, including a selection of slim cypress trees, which can also be found on the town's traditional coat of arms. The Joan March Gardens are just under 10 minutes away from the villa and are open 24 hours a day, making them an accessible landmark for tourists.

Fabulous large house
Great accommodation well located for the town center. Fabulous large house with lots of large bedrooms and entertaining space. Thanks to Gemma and the Balearic Villas team who were most helpful. Great family holiday.
Really minor point but maybe provide some Cava/Prosecco glasses as well as wine glasses.
