Location
About the surrounding area of Finca AsnellopFinca Asnellop is situated just over 5 minute drive away from the centre of Pollensa, a riveting region packed with character and alluring landmarks. A trip to Pollensa Market is a must-do activity for those looking to learn more about this region from a much more intimate perspective. With over 300 stalls to discover, this is a fantastic attraction if you are a fan of handmade goods and are eager to pick up a collection of artisan souvenirs to show off back home. A large section of this market is also dedicated to fresh produce such as fruits and vegetables. As such, this is an excellent way for guests to purchase a range of unique ingredients to use in their cooking back at the villa. The Pollensa Market is around 5 minutes from the villa and is open every Sunday from 8 am to 1:30 pm.
Formentor Lighthouse is a truly inspiring landmark that can be found around an hour away from the villa. First built in 1863, this structure was initially used to guide small fishing boats away from the sharp and dangerous rocks that are often found at the base of the shores. Despite its practical purpose, this lighthouse is also known to be a grand source of inspiration for many prolific writers such as Gerardo Diego. To get a clearer look at this monument, guests are encouraged to take a short drive toward the peak of the lighthouse and bask in the panoramic views that surround them as they travel through.
If you are eager to embark on a sightseeing tour like none other, you must take the time to explore Alzinaret Caves. These caves were initially discovered by a British archaeologist in 1927 but dated all the way back to 1600 BC. As such, guests now have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to observe a range of artefacts from the Middle Bronze Age in a much more personal fashion. With a wide collection of caves to discover, this is a great attraction for those looking to rekindle their sense of adventure and uncover the lost wonders that this region has to offer. There is also a small selection of outdoor benches for those who do not feel comfortable about entering the caves. Alzinaret Caves are located around a 15 minute drive away from Finca Asnellop.

THE REGION
Pollensa, in the north of the island, is an ancient town of attractive narrow streets and an impressive main square, lined with cafés, restaurants and bars, and is just a few kilometres from Port de Pollensa.
The town has several places of interest to visit, including the Roman bridge, signposted ‘Pont Roma’, which is still in use, and the Puig de Pollensa – a small mountain topped by a monastery just outside the town. Here we provide all the information you want to know to make the most of this relaxed yet culturally satisfying inland town.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesPollensa also provides a wealth of attractions that children will adore, ensuring they can appreciate every moment of this memorable holiday. Pollensa Museum is a profoundly intuitive landmark that was initially used to house a wealth of ornate Gothic altarpieces. Throughout many centuries, these items received a ton of praise and appreciation, particularly at the affluent Summer Exhibition of Painting, which took place throughout the 1960s. Nowadays, this establishment is recognised as a key part of the European art scene and now hosts the inspiring work of Attilio Boveri. In addition, this museum is also free to enter for all guests, making it an excellent option for those travelling on a budget. Pollensa Museum can be found around 10 minutes away from Finca Asnellop.
Puig de Maria is a looming and deeply moving religious monument that is situated just over 5 minutes away from the villa. Perched on top of a staggering 330-metre summit, this quaint 14th-century monastery is a keen part of the local history and was initially regarded as a charming shrine to the Virgin Mary. However, to keep up with the motifs seen at the time, the monastery underwent an immense renovation throughout the 18th century. As such, it now presents many attractive Gothic and Baroque assets. Thus, guests are encouraged to enter the monastery to get a closer look at some of the integral artefacts found here. Also, many previous guests have said that it only takes around half an hour to climb to the top of this peak, making it an accessible hike for most guests.
For those travelling to Pollensa in November, explore the nuances of La Fira. This trade fair has occurred since 1748, exemplifying the rich and far-reaching legacy seen throughout this intuitive area. Guests will have the chance to meander through an abundance of alluring stalls, purchasing a selection of woven goods as they travel through. As a result, this is an incredible landmark to visit if you wish to take a step back into the past and learn more about the intricacies of this riveting region. La Fira usually takes place on the second Sunday of November until the following Tuesday.
