Location
About the surrounding area of Pollensa Mortitxet LuxPollensa Mortitxet Lux sits in the glorious rural countryside outside of Pollensa. It is peaceful and serene, yet it is within easy reach of bustling tourist resorts with fantastic entertainment and cuisine. Guests also enjoy exploring the island’s majestic mountains, sleepy, charming villages and its famous caves.
Pollensa and Puerta Pollensa are a short drive away. Pollensa is an attractive ancient walled town with stunning architecture, modern art galleries, fabulous boutiques, chic, gastronomic restaurants and a lively market. Puerto Pollensa is wonderful with its dazzling white sand and shallow, warm water. Further, Formentor is spectacular and worth the bumpy drive.
. Alcudia Old Town is wonderfully atmospheric for an evening out. It is very romantic with narrow cobbled streets, Romeo and Juliet balconies, authentic cafes, unique boutiques, fabulous fine dining and traditional restaurants, vibrant tapas bars and a superb open-air market. Alcudia’s Roman ruins and museum sit just outside the walls and are very interesting. Alcudia Old Town hosts many cultural events, including traditional fiestas and classical music festivals. Visitors can walk around the entire perimeter of the town’s medieval walls, either on the inside on the Cami de Ronde route or the outside, using what has now become a delightful garden walk. You can enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the Bay of Pollensa from the top of the walls.
There are several vineyards within easy reach where you can taste some delicious wines. These include the excellent Bodegas Can Vidalet at Pollensa, Bodega Butxet and the Mortitx winery, hidden off a winding road between Pollensa and Lluc. It is worth navigating the hairpin bends of the Tramuntana mountain range to find it.
La Reserva Puig Galatzo is a fabulous nature reserve deep in the forest at the western end of the Tramuntana. You can hike the pathways, enjoying the wildlife, pools and waterfalls. The adventure park has Mallorca's longest zip wire, rock climbing and Tibetan-style suspension bridges. A trip to the mountain range would only be complete with visiting the beautiful Deia. The village is one of the prettiest in Mallorca, and it has become a playground for the rich.

THE REGION
Pollensa, in the north of the island, is an ancient town of attractive narrow streets and an impressive main square, lined with cafés, restaurants and bars, and is just a few kilometres from Port de Pollensa.
The town has several places of interest to visit, including the Roman bridge, signposted ‘Pont Roma’, which is still in use, and the Puig de Pollensa – a small mountain topped by a monastery just outside the town. Here we provide all the information you want to know to make the most of this relaxed yet culturally satisfying inland town.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesPollensa Mortitxet Lux is perfect for a multi-generation family holiday or perhaps for friends with children. The garden has a fabulous pool, privacy, plenty of room for family games and a rooftop jacuzzi.
The villa is within easy reach of some of Mallorca’s favourite beaches. As well as the magnificent Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia beaches, guests also enjoy Cala Agulla, Cala Sant Vicenc, Formentor, and Cala Mesquida, amongst many others. The Bay of Alcudia is Mallorca’s longest stretch of beach, offering an incredible variety of watersports. Watersports Mallorca is based just east of the Old Town at Playa de Muro, where children can learn to kitesurf or windsurf as well as hire other equipment. It is an enchanting natural cove lying 4km off the road between Pollensa town and the port. There is a sense of seclusion you will not find at the busier tourist resorts. There are a few excellent fish restaurants too. Plenty of watersports are on offer as well as sandcastle building and swimming in the lovely azure shallow waters of Puerto Pollensa.
The Hotel Bellevue Complex at Puerto Alcudia boasts a thrilling go-karting playground called Kartingmania which is open to all visitors. There is a particular track for four to seven-year-olds, and children over seven can drive on the main track in customized, gasoline-powered karts.
The Hidropark Waterpark in Alcudia boasts kamikaze slides, a wave pool, swimming and water playgrounds. There are gentle slides for very young children. There are also inflatable castles, trampolines, giant floating balls and a golf course. It is set in lush landscaped gardens and is a great day out.
Children also love visiting some of Mallorca's exciting caves. Coves d'Arta's guided tour takes you through various chambers to the 'Queen of Pillars', a vast stalagmite twenty-two metres tall. Coves de Drach, which means Caves of the Dragon, is the most famous caves. It has four caves where musicians play classical music from the boats on the underground lake. In the direction of Palma, you will discover the traditional village of Campanet. The Ses Coves de Campanet are a lovely sight.
You can head to La Reserva Galatzo, deep in the Tramuntana mountains, near Puigpunyent, for some thrilling fun. As well as having stunning scenery and much wildlife, the adventure park offers rock climbing, swinging bridges, a zip wire and canyons to slide down. There are well-marked paths, and the barbecue area is a great place to finish.
