If you’ve been searching for a countryside villa that has charm and beauty in spades, then say hello to Villa Chaya. Nestled in a sheltered valley in the stunning Mallorcan countryside, this beautifully renovated farmhouse accommodates up to six guests across three bedrooms and offers privacy and seclusion - all within easy reach of the historic town of Pollensa.

Bursting with original features such as wooden ceiling beams and terracotta tiles and showcasing some beautiful antique furniture, Villa Chaya is full of rustic character - with a modern twist! There are plenty of home-from-home comforts and modern, high-end facilities that will ensure that your stay is as comfortable and luxurious as it is memorable.

The villa is decorated throughout in dazzling white, with accents of warm wood and light neutral shades. The ground floor has a spacious living room, complete with cosy sofas and soft cushions and a feature fireplace with a woodburning stove - which makes an attractive focal point of the room. This is the perfect space for quiet evenings chatting and watching films on the flatscreen satellite TV or for curling up with a glass of wine and a good book after a busy day of exploring the local area. The dining area has a table that seats up to six guests and also features some fascinating traditional Mallorcan art that is sure to be a conversation starter over dinner. The farmhouse-style kitchen is fully-fitted and well-equipped with everything you’ll need during your stay, including an oven and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine and dishwasher. There’s also a large larder, where you’ll find a safe and a washing machine for added convenience.

The ground floor is where you’ll find two of Villa Chaya’s bright and airy bedrooms; a double featuring gorgeous views out over the garden and a twin that benefits from an ensuite bathroom. There’s also a large family bathroom on the ground floor. Ascend the stone staircase, and the third bedroom can be found on the first floor. This master bedroom takes up the whole level and features a double bed, ensuite bathroom and gorgeous windows that flood the room with plenty of Mediterranean sunshine! Each bedroom is decorated to a high specification, with light, fresh shades, crisp linens and stylish furniture.

Stepping outside the villa you’ll want to spend a few seconds taking in the extensive and picturesque grounds. Villa Chaya features a partially-covered terrace complete with dining furniture - perfect for enjoying alfresco meals with the family. With comfortable seating on the adjoining terrace and another small seating area near the built-in barbecue, you’re sure to find somewhere to sit and enjoy a morning coffee, an afternoon cocktail, or an evening glass of local wine while chatting with your nearest and dearest.

The gardens really do offer guests a private slice of Mallorcan countryside, with lush lawns, exotic trees and mountain views. Of course, the piece de resistance is Villa Chaya’s private pool, which has a stepped entrance for easy access and is flanked by comfortable loungers and parasols.

Villa Chaya is surrounded by mountains and lush countryside, and getting out there and exploring couldn't be easier. There are plenty of picturesque walks right on your doorstep, and guided horse-riding tours are also available in the area. The ancient town of Pollensa is about a twenty-minute drive from the villa and is your best bet for groceries and essentials. While you're in the town, be sure to check out some of the local attractions, such as Museo Dionis Bennassar, the home of a local artist that is now used to showcase his incredible works. This peaceful and inspirational place is the perfect spot for art lovers, as well for anyone who wants to enjoy some quiet contemplation while soaking up some local culture.

Another popular attraction is Puig de Pollenca, a stunning medieval chapel and watchtower situated at the top of a hill. The town is small and easy to explore on foot, but be aware that it is a steep and uneven walk, so good footwear is a must!

After a day of wandering the pretty streets, looking at the fresh produce in the market and marvelling at the views, be sure to stop at a local bar or cafe for juice, coffee or wine….before heading to one of the many restaurants in the town for traditional Mediterranean fares such as Tumbet (a vegetarian dish of aubergines, potatoes, red peppers, garlic, tomatoes and love oil), or perhaps a fresh seafood dish, salad or burger.

If it's beaches you're after, Puerto Pollensa is a fifteen-minute drive from Villa Chaya and is an excellent place to hang out and enjoy each other's company. There are some beautiful stretches of golden sand here, and the calm waters are perfect for swimming and snorkelling. It's possible to hire loungers, umbrellas and dinghies on the beach, and several areas are backed by tall pine trees that offer some cooling shade and make Puerto Pollensa popular with those who are travelling with children. After a busy day of sun, sea and swimming, you'll be able to head to one of the nearby cafes or restaurants for some well-earned refreshment.

THE REGION

Pollensa, in the north of the island, is an ancient town of attractive narrow streets and an impressive main square, lined with cafés, restaurants and bars, and is just a few kilometres from Port de Pollensa.

The town has several places of interest to visit, including the Roman bridge, signposted ‘Pont Roma’, which is still in use, and the Puig de Pollensa – a small mountain topped by a monastery just outside the town. Here we provide all the information you want to know to make the most of this relaxed yet culturally satisfying inland town.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Energetic youngsters will delight in the amount of space at Villa Chaya, both inside and out. The gardens are large and perfect for playing and exploring, with plenty of shady areas for chilling out and eating with the family. The private pool is easily accessible with steps, making things easier for little swimmers, and there’s plenty in the way of entertainment, including satellite TV, WiFi and a table tennis table that’s just begging for a family after-dinner tournament!

The Villa’s rural surroundings are perfect for country walks, picnics and bird watching. Paths are wide and plentiful, so you’ll be able to explore the immediate area as a family, whatever age the kids are.

Puerto Pollensa and its fabulous beaches are around fifteen minutes away by car - and it’s well worth the trip. Puerto Pollensa Beach is particularly popular, and this narrow stretch of golden sand becomes especially fun for children during the summer months with the addition of an inflatable playground in the sea. There are plenty of places nearby where you can grab an ice cream or other refreshments, as well as sunscreen if you’ve left yours back at the Villa, and there are several seafront playgrounds that offer a welcome change of pace if you don’t fancy a day on the sand with the younger children.

If you venture to the other side of the port, you’ll discover D’Albercuix Beach running alongside a promenade known as the ‘Pine Walk’ due to the fact that it is lined with tall pine trees. This beach is smaller and less ‘touristy’ than Puerto Pollensa beach, making it a firm favourite for those who are visiting the region with younger children.

If you decide to head into the ancient town of Pollensa during your stay, you’ll find plenty of places to stop for drinks and snacks, as well as restaurants offering dishes that will suit even the fussiest eaters - with the majority in the area having good-sized children’s menus. This charming town isn’t huge and is much quieter than some of the other tourist hotspots, making it less daunting for the kids than some of the busier areas of Mallorca.

  • Excellent family holiday

    on 12/10/2023

From the moment we arrived we knew we would have a great time. The villa was comfortable, very well equipped, spacious, quiet and set in lovely well maintained grounds.
So many different areas to sit and relax either in the sun or shade and a fab covered area for eating and enjoying the warm nights. The pool and table tennis were well used and much enjoyed. With beaches, supermarkets, and restaurants a short trip in the car, the villa is superbly situated to enjoy the best of the area. The only downside were the mosquitos which were very active during our stay.

Having just recovered from COVID, this was an ideal place to relax and get our energy back. The gardens are gorgeous with ample seating areas both in the sun and under ancient olive trees.
