Villa Garballo is just 3.5km from the town centre of Pollensa, giving guests access to a wide range of activities as well as a sense of closure from the hustle and bustle. Pollensa is well-known for its wide range of tourist attractions, such as the Pollensa Museum. Located in the centre of the main plaza, this museum encapsulates a wide variety of art pieces that help to tell a fascinating story about the region’s history. The museum was built between 1588 and 1616, collating a range of Gothic altarpieces and other acclaimed paintings. These pieces were commended during the Summer Exhibition of Painting, a prestigious award ceremony that took place in the 1960s. The Pollensa Museum is free to enter and is open every weekday.

Mallorca boasts of the bustling independent wine industry, with a plethora of wineries scattered all around the island. If you are visiting Pollensa in April, then you have the chance to explore the diverse Wine Trade Fair. This joyous event is held in the Cluster del Convent de Santo Domingo, which is just outside the main square of Pollensa. Guests are invited to sample a selection of locally-produced wines and learn more about how the incredible craft has transformed multiple regions around Mallorca. During this event, you will receive an informational booklet that will guide you through the wide array of stalls. A small fee is required for entry, and the festival is usually open from Friday through Sunday.

The Joan March Gardens can be found around 45-minutes away from the centre of Pollensa, giving guests the opportunity to explore some of Mallorca’s most impeccable landscapes. These gardens were named after the March family, who were responsible for some of Pollensa’s most successful business ventures. First founded in the 1980s, The Joan March Gardens contain a wealth of expansive trees as well as rare vegetation. As such, this is a landmark that combines the natural beauty and history of this region. There is also a grand statue of March himself for guests to learn more about. This park is open throughout the day, giving guests enough time to explore the grounds in great detail.

THE REGION

Pollensa, in the north of the island, is an ancient town of attractive narrow streets and an impressive main square, lined with cafés, restaurants and bars, and is just a few kilometres from Port de Pollensa.

The town has several places of interest to visit, including the Roman bridge, signposted ‘Pont Roma’, which is still in use, and the Puig de Pollensa – a small mountain topped by a monastery just outside the town. Here we provide all the information you want to know to make the most of this relaxed yet culturally satisfying inland town.

Villa Garballo gives children the space they need to truly unwind whilst also placing them into the heart of the action. Just a 25-minute drive away is the magnificent Cala San Vicente beach. This tremendous landmark allows children to play in the sand as the soothing waves move before them. There is also a collection of trees that surround the beach, helping them create a more picturesque scene. This beach is also close to a wide variety of bars and restaurants, offering a wealth of dishes for the whole family to enjoy.

If your child is looking to rekindle their sense of adventure whilst on holiday, then the Alizinaret Caves are a perfect treat. These incredible structures can be found around 10-minutes away from the town centre of Pollensa, allowing guests to explore this amazing phenomenon with ease. There are a total of 11 caves for guests to discover, helping them to unlock more about their prehistoric origins. It is said that the Alizinaret Caves date back to 1600 BC but were not truly discovered until 1927, when they were first discovered by Archeologist Wilfred Hemp. Therefore, these caves signify the rich and ancient history that is found in Pollensa’s legacy. There are also a group of benches outside the attraction for guests who would rather just sit and watch the world go by.

Pollensa also hosts a wide variety of local markets, helping tourists from around the world learn more about the region’s local customs. The Pollensa Market can be found in the main plaza, allowing guests to visit this market with ease and convenience. With over 300 stalls, children will love exploring the abundance of clothes, crafts, and souvenirs. As such, they can purchase an array of items that will remind them of their spectacular time on holiday. Not to mention, the vibrant merchants also sell an assortment of fresh produce so guests can use some locally-grown ingredients in the meals they create back in the villa. The Pollensa Market is only open on Sundays between 8 am and 1 pm.
