Location
About the surrounding area of Villa Jordi 5Villa Jordi 5 is located in Pollensa, a region that is well known for its assortment of alluring attractions. This region is also teeming with local history, a real treat for any guest who is looking to expand their knowledge of European history. Placa de l’Almonia is just a short walk away from the town centre and is home to a very special house. This house was run by a group of university students who provided essential wheat and money to some of Pollensa’s peasants. In addition, this square was used as a battleground on 30h May 1550 when the citizens were forced to defend themselves against a group of violent ambushers. Thus, the modern-day citizens hold a ceremony every August to honour the bravery of those who lost their lives during this conflict.
If you are looking for a free attraction to visit, the Pollensa Museum is also just a stone’s throw away from the town centre. This museum originally hosted a varied collection of Gothic altarpieces, some of which are still on show today. Despite its 16th-century roots, the museum was not officially founded until 1975. During this time, the Pollensa Museum received a lot of praise for its archaic collection, especially during the Summer Exhibition of Painting. Guests can browse through these collections, exploring the Buddhist artefacts as well as the works of Atilio Boveri. The Pollensa Museum is open Monday-Friday from 10 am till 2 pm and is free to enter.
Puig de Maria is a deeply significant landmark within Pollensa and is just over 5-minutes away from the centre of the region. At the top of a 330-metre summit sits a 14th-century monastery that acts as a beautiful shrine to the Virgin Mary. This monastery also underwent an intense renovation during the 19th century in order to adhere to the contemporary Gothic revival. In the 21st century, guests can observe the collection of authentic and well-preserved artefacts, offering a unique look into Pollensa’s religious history. Puig de Maria only takes around 30-minutes to climb, making it a fairly easy hike for most guests.

Best Suited For: TeensPollensa showcases a wide variety of family-friendly attractions that help to inspire young minds. Formentor Lighthouse is around an hour away from Pollensa and gives guests the opportunity to see the whole of Mallorca from an awe-inspiring perspective. This monumental lighthouse dated back to 1863 and was used to guide fishing boats away from the dangerous rocks at the base of the shores. The lighthouse still holds the same purpose to this day and helps to keep the entire community safe from harsh winds and seas. Guests are encouraged to drive to the 210-metre peak and explore the intricate rocks and structures as they travel through. Formentor Lighthouse is also a muse for a collection of literary icons such as Vincente Alexandre and Blas de Otero.
This region is also well recognised for its expansive and delectable food scene, which is ideal if you are looking to try new foods as a family during your time here. La Placeta Restaurant is a fine-dining establishment that presents a variety of dishes for guests to try. They provide options such as grilled sirloin steak and well as salt crust gilthead, allowing guests to taste fresh ingredients in an expertly crafted manner. There is also a range of desserts on offer, such as an indulgent chocolate brownie and an almond cake with vanilla ice cream. La Placeta Restaurant is just a few minutes away from the town centre and welcomes guests from 1 pm till 10:30 pm.
Pollensa also offers a wide variety of natural landscapes for guests to explore at their own pace. The Joan March Gardens are an expansive landmark that celebrates the life and work of the March family, who helped Pollensa reach its fullest economic potential. These gardens are home to a striking selection of olive trees and a wide variety of ecosystems, giving guests the chance to explore all of Pollensa’s natural beauty in a more intimate way. The Joan March Gardens are just under 10-minutes away from the town centre and are open 24 hours a day. This gives guests plenty of time to explore the gardens during their time in the region.
