Location
About the surrounding area of Villa PorsaVilla Porsa is located in Mallorca, placing guests in one of the most popular regions in Spain. Mallorca is known for its incredible history, boasting a wide variety of significant landmarks for tourists to discover. The Royal Palace of La Almundaina is just over 40-minutes away from the centre of Mallorca and highlights the religious diversity that has swept across the region’s long history. This awe-inspiring landmark was built in the 10th century and was originally seen as a Muslim fortress. However, in the 13th century, the building removed its Moorish legacy and was ruled by the Christians. Guests can explore the three grandiose rooms and uncover the historic beauty of the artefacts and tapestries, helping them to learn more about how various citizens lived during this time.
If you are looking to learn more about Mallorca’s far-reaching history, the Gardens of the Royal Palace are a real treat. These expansive grounds have a Medieval origin but went under an intense industrial renovation during the late 18th century. During this time, the gardens received a complete makeover, adding a barbershop, a bike shop, and a theatre. In the 1960s, the gardens removed a majority of their industrial roots, placing more significance on the horticulture and wildlife that resides here. Guests can explore the archaic statues and fountains that stand on these grounds, becoming mesmerised by their idyllic essence and grace. The Gardens of the Royal Palace are around 40-minutes away and guests can explore the entirety of the park in about 30-minutes.
The Santa Catalina Market is a bustling hub within the culinary industry, allowing guests to explore Mallorca’s abundance of fresh produce. This market hosts a variety of meats, cheese, and fresh fish, giving guests the chance to taste these amazing foods at their most authentic source. Many of the locals praise the vendors for their useful cooing advice, commending their wealth of experience and skill. Plus, this is Palma’s oldest food market, further stating its powerful stance within the region. The Santa Catalina Market is around 45-minutes away from the centre of Mallorca and is open every day from 7 am till 5 pm.

During this expansive hike, guests will travel the length of the Tramuntana Mountains, starting at Port Andratx, which is an hour away from the centre of Mallorca. This route has a range of rest stops and attractions along the way, ensuring that guests can truly slow down and take in the wondrous sights. This is the perfect activity for families who are looking to spot as many sights as they can in a short space of time. Capdepera Lighthouse has been named ‘A symbol of the 19th century’, signifying its acclaimed relevance within Mallorca’s history. This spectacular monument was built in 1861 under the rule of Isabel II. It was designed to keep sailors out of harm’s way as they travelled from France to Menorca. To this day, the Capdepera Lighthouse is used to shield modern sailors from harsh winds and ensure that the local citizens are protected at all costs.
