Villa Macaret is a spacious air-conditioned 6-bedroom villa in Son Parc, sleeping up to 11 guests. This light and airy property is set in a peaceful location surrounded by beautiful pine forest, yet it is only a 25-minute drive to the bustling capital of Mahon.

Set over two floors, Villa Macaret has an attractive Mediterranean-style frontage that blends seamlessly into the lush green surroundings; The white-washed walls have pretty arched openings leading onto shady terraces with warm terracotta tiles.

The open-style living and dining space offer a tranquil space with white-washed walls and terracotta tiles, complimented by comfy furnishing in a neutral pallet. Kick back and relax in front of the large TV or simply sink into large wicker sofas and chill. The dining space is simple yet stylish, with a modern white table and chairs where you can enjoy relaxed dinner parties. The separate kitchen offers plenty of storage space and is well-equipped for any budding chefs of the group!

Three of the six bedrooms are located on the ground floor, and the other three are on the first floor, all ranging from single, twin or double bed arrangements meaning there's something for everyone here!

The outside space of this property benefits from a large garden lawn framed by high shady trees that are great for the kids to explore or a lovely relaxing spot to escape to. The covered terrace has a lovely Spanish feel with warm, classic tiles and white voile curtains blowing in the breeze, and the charming dining area is idyllic for informal soirees under the stars. The seating area with comfortable loungers is perfect for lazy sunny days and warm balmy evenings. In front of the terrace are the large inviting pool (9m x 5m) and deck area with oversized sun loungers and pretty parasols. With a backdrop of tropical palms and lush greenery, you can enjoy tranquillity and seclusion on long lazy sunny days.

Villa Macaret is set on a quiet street surrounded by forest in Son Parc on the north coast of the Island and is only a short drive from Mahon, Fornells and Es Mercadal.

Menorca is perfect for lazy, relaxed beach holidays, enjoying a laid-back atmosphere; this is a great destination for families and beach lovers. Historic towns, pretty fishing villages and glorious sandy beaches enjoy a backdrop of stunning turquoise waters.

Son Parc is an attractive area on the north coast of Menorca. Set in an area of valleys and pinewoods with gorgeous countryside views, it is a quiet relaxing beach location and perfect for couples and those with young families. The natural and beautiful Arenal de Son Saura beach, with wide white sands and shallow crystal clear waters, offers plenty of water sports and facilities. The town has a small commercial centre with supermarkets, Bars and Restaurants. Golfers are well catered for at Golf Son Parc, and non-drivers can enjoy good transport links to the buzzing capital of Mahon and the lovely market town of Es Mercadal

Mahon is built on a cliff overlooking a natural harbour and is colourful and lively. The historical centre has a maze of pretty pastel streets, charming squares and plazas with pavement cafes and restaurants and offers plenty of cultural delights and interesting shopping spots. For a taste of Spanish bustle, visit the Mahon Fish Market and eat like a local with a fantastic choice of fresh pintxos and tapas. The Marina, reached by stairways and lift or the winding Costa de ses Voltes street, has several waterside bars and restaurants and is the perfect spot to people-watch and try traditional Menorcan cuisine.

Es Mercadal is only a 20-minute drive from the property and is a small medieval market town with whitewashed houses lining pretty narrow streets at the foot of Monte Toro, the highest point in Menorca. This is a lovely taste of authentic Menorca with artisan shops selling local goods and is ‘the’ place to try traditional Ensaimada (filled pastry) or Amargos (almond macaroons) at one of the picturesque little cake and pastry shops.

THE REGION

Arena D'en Castell is located on the northeast coast of Menorca, within an easy bus ride of other towns to visit. Arenal den Castell is the fourth most prominent resort on Menorca and is on the eastern side of Menorca, where most of the island's attractions are located.

The bay at Arenal d'en Castell is as close to a near-perfect horseshoe as you can get. The headlands on the waters' horizon close in so much so that you think you might be standing by a large saltwater lake. While some areas behind the beach have been developed, the varying ground height levels mean it's more natural than it might first appear in photographs. The eastern end of the resort and beach is more naturally intact with wooded areas and sand dunes and is where most of the private villas and apartments are located.

Villa Macaret is a lovely villa for kids. It is surrounded by forests and greenery, and there is plenty of space for fun and games, and the pool is gorgeous! Menorca is a breath of fresh air for families who want a relaxed holiday away from large crowds.

Son Parc is a wonderful destination for families as most restaurants have children's menus, and Arenal Son Saura is a wonderful, shallow beach that's both beautiful and clean. There is a lifeguard on duty, and the snorkelling here is excellent. In some places, the surf is barely more than knee-deep, making this quiet spot ideal for the little ones.

Twenty minutes' drivng from the property, the former fishing village of Fornells is the main base for sail-based water sports and is the gateway to the north coastline and virgin beaches of Cala Pilar, Caldaria and Pregonda, which can be reached by a thrilling trip by water taxi ride.

Jeep Safari Menorca offers great days for adventurers of all ages with the chance to explore hidden treasures of the island travelling along rural paths with an experienced guide in a fully convertible 4x4. For water babies requiring a more gentle experience, The Carema Splash Park, located near Playas de Fornells, offers a great day of fun and adventure.

A great day out with all the family is to go visit the capital, Mahon. One of the most popular things to do in Mahon is head out on this sightseeing boat trip around the port and harbour. Most tour boats have an open-air top deck and are glass-bottomed, so you have the opportunity to see some sea life too. Faro de Favaritx is a beautiful nature reserve with many walking/hiking options. Stroll from the car park around 3km on a paved road (no cars) to the lighthouse and admire the views.

End of stay cleaning included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or garbage disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.

Tax Balearic Eco Tourist Tax of €2.20 per person per night for over 16's is not included in the rental price and will need to be paid locally in cash on arrival.
Insurance Guests are required to be in possession of a valid insurance policy, which covers them for cancellations, loss of personal belongings, personal liability and any accidental damage caused during their stay.
Other Ts and Cs A cot and highchair are included in the rental price. For any additional items, guests will be asked to pay a charge of €5/night/set, payable directly to the supplier in the property. Please request these during the booking process.
