THE REGION
The resort of Son Bou in the municipality of Alaior, on the south coast of Menorca, is renowned for having the biggest and probably best beach on the island. The resort is located around 20 kilometres from the international airport at Mahon.
Son Bou is a well-developed area containing many restaurants offering a good range of British, Indian, Chinese and Mediterranean dishes, as well as numerous bars, some of which are themed to help entertain young ones.
While the resort is very popular for families, the sheer size of the beach makes it easy for those who prefer to avoid the little ones to find their ideal spots! There is an abundance of natural sand dunes that make a very pleasant backdrop.

One of the top attractions is Lloc de Menorca, the only zoo in the region. It’s home to unique animals like lemurs, goats, and macaque monkeys. Visitors can enjoy observing these animals in their natural habitats. The park is also accessible, with a special timetable for disabled guests, making it easy for everyone to visit. Lloc de Menorca is just over 15 minutes from the villa.
Another fun spot for families is Club San Jaime, an exciting waterpark that lets children enjoy splash pads and water slides. The park is designed for children of all ages, with a large lawn area for those who prefer to stay away from the water. After a day of play, families can enjoy a delicious meal at the on-site restaurant. Club San Jaime is just a short walk from Casa Jaime.
For those who enjoy shopping, Centro Commercial is a must-visit. It’s a lively shopping center with a mix of boutiques, high-end shops, and pop-up stores. It’s a great place to pick up souvenirs or support local businesses. The shopping center is located just under 30 minutes from the villa.
