THE REGION
The resort of Son Bou in the municipality of Alaior, on the south coast of Menorca, is renowned for having the biggest and probably best beach on the island. The resort is located around 20 kilometres from the international airport at Mahon.
Son Bou is a well-developed area containing many restaurants offering a good range of British, Indian, Chinese and Mediterranean dishes, as well as numerous bars, some of which are themed to help entertain young ones.
While the resort is very popular for families, the sheer size of the beach makes it easy for those who prefer to avoid the little ones to find their ideal spots! There is an abundance of natural sand dunes that make a very pleasant backdrop.

Without travelling far, you will be able to find lovely villages, bustling towns and family friendly attractions.
If you would like to take the children on a special day out, a boat trip up to the Northern coastline is a great idea. These trips take the whole afternoon and will take you in to protected nature reserves where you can swim, snorkel and look out for sea turtles and dolphins.
