A combination of the gorgeous Can Garraf and the cosy Can Garraf Petit, Can Garraf Estate is a perfect option for large groups looking to explore the popular area of Sitges, just a short drive away from the bustling city of Barcelona!
The larger house is made up of 7 double bedrooms, with plenty of space for everyone to gather around and spend time together, either inside or outside next to the pool! Once a manor house, this quintessentially Catalan-style masia is spread over two main floors and offers not one but three living spaces, including warm and inviting seating areas in rooms with wonderfully tactile wood accents, a dining area with a distinctive blend of farmhouse-charm and industrial-chic, and a fully-equipped modern stainless steel kitchen complete with contemporary gadgetry. Then there are the seven calm-inspiring bedrooms, six of which are ensuite. The main suite even has its own private bathroom with a luxurious Jacuzzi bathtub.
Just a minute walk away, the 'petit' version is also available for guests. Still retaining the same style and charm of the larger masia, Can Garraf Petit was once the smaller annexe to the larger manor house and now serves as a cosy addition from where to discover Catalonia. The home is spread over two main floors, with inviting living spaces carefully laid out over the ground floor. These include a charming living room furnished with some contemporary pieces and opening into a modern kitchen with a breakfast bar. There is also another, slightly more elegant dining room where we already imagine sitting down with the rest of our group for a sumptuous meal. There are also three cosy double bedrooms with ensuites that everyone is sure to love!
What you should know…
- The TV room in Can Garraf can be converted to a bedroom if needed (please see T&Cs)
- In the interest of safety, any little ones must be supervised at all times when around the pool area (particularly as there is a drop on one side), and the same, of course, goes for the first-floor Juliet balconies
- There are a range of activities and extras for you on offer at Can Garraf; including concierge services, daily housekeeping, catering/private chef services, a freshly-cooked breakfast service, wine-tasting experiences, and excursions! Get in touch with us today and our Concierge team will help organised them for you
- The property is located in a rural area, surrounded by a river (riera de ribes). With heavy rains, the river can fill up and there might be a possibility that you cannot cross by car. This rarely happens, however for this reason we would recommend a larger car for accessing the property

Location
About the surrounding area of Can Garraf EstateMuch like the interior of these homes, its location also offers you the best of both worlds – not to mention the perfect opportunity to discover the very best of what captivating Catalonia has to offer: from its flavourful cuisine to its richly varied cultural heritage and fascinating language. Catalonia is, of course, culturally distinct from the rest of Spain, and while some things translate from the rest of the sunny Southern European country, this part of Spain really does feel like a wonderful world in its own right.
Characterised by its swathes of unspoiled countryside filled with everything from olive groves to vineyards; its soft golden sand beaches; and the charismatic villages that dot the gently undulating landscape all the way to the coast until you reach bubbling Barcelona, there truly is something for everyone to fall in love with in this multifaceted region. Just a 15-20 minute walk away down a country path from the villa is the quaint village of Sant Pere de Ribes, which is a great spot to grab some breakfast - we recommend Matt Cafe!
Wine buffs may well rejoice, too, as the famous Penedes and Cava-producing winemakers of Torres, Cordiniu, Freixenet, and Gramona are all nearby. A visit to any of them makes for the perfect (perhaps somewhat boozy) afternoon out. Another idea for a day trip would be a visit to the world-famous and undeniably scenic ancient city of Tarragona, just 30 minutes away, or the magnificent Montserrat mountain, about 45 minutes by car.
It is important to note that the property is located in a rural area, surrounded by a river (riera de ribes). With heavy rains, the river can fill up and there might be a possibility that you cannot cross by car. This rarely happens but is something to take into account while booking the property.

Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesWe think this is a great choice for anyone travelling with children, partly because of the cosy and homelike interiors that are sure to have the little ones feeling comfortable in no time, but also because of the tranquil location that is still within easy reach of beaches and historical sites such as Tarragona that will set their imaginations alight. The popular Port Aventura adventure park is also close by, reachable in just about 30 minutes by car. This leisure theme park is based around five civilisations (Far West, Mediterranean, Mexico, China, and Polynesia) and is a great option to take the kids out for the day!
Of course, a great option that kids will love is a day trip to the amazing city of Barcelona, which is filled with cultural activities for everyone to enjoy! To reach Barcelona, you can drive roughly fourty minutes into the city, however, we recommend driving into Sitges and then getting a 25-30 minute train into the city so you don't have to worry about the parking.

Owner Profile
How long have you owned the property?
We bought the property in 2003. Our dream was to restore the ruins and live there as a family. It took us 10 years to get the building permits, so eventually, we decided to restore the ruins and rent them out, as by then we had settled with the family (3 boys) in Sitges and no longer wanted to move.
What was it about the property that you first fell in love with?
The scenery, views of the Mediterranean Sea, vineyards, quietness, proximity to Barcelona and the international airport El Prat, Sitges (good beaches) and Ski areas in winter.
Are there any interesting stories in the property’s history?
The property’s history dates back to the Napoleonic Wars, during which part of the Catalonian militia was led by Josep Capdet del Corral, who was born in the farmhouse Corral del Capdet, half a kilometre outside of Sant Pere de Ribes.
For anyone coming to stay, is there anything you suggest that they really…

Paella from our chef Carmen!
Must see?
Sagrada Familia or any Gaudi architecture in Barcelona, sunrise in Sitges, Sitges carnival, Golden hour on the terrace of the villa.
