Overview
Position. Position. Position. Nestled within the undulating hills of the quaint Turkish hamlet, Faralya, in the Fethiye region, stands the enchanting Villa Faralya, boasting two bedrooms. From this vantage point, the villa offers unparalleled vistas of the cerulean coastline and the tranquil Butterfly Valley below. A gentle, sandy shore and delightful strolls through a verdant ravine lay in close proximity, adding to the allure of this secluded haven. This serene locale plays host to a plethora of butterfly species, among them the distinctive Jersey tiger butterfly.
Opportunities for aquatic revelry abound: a private al fresco swimming pool beckons, while the nearby Belcekiz beach and the Oludeniz Nature Reserve and beach await a short jaunt away. An embrace of rustic stone walls and towering foliage envelops the villa, safeguarding your privacy and cocooning you in tranquillity. The open-air veranda is graced with cushioned sun loungers and potted resplendent bougainvillaea blossoms. Whether you seek a shaded nook for leisurely reading or a refreshing dip in the crystalline azure waters, the terrace caters to your desires. As night falls, lanterns embedded within the walls cast a gentle glow, prolonging the serenity well into the evening hours.
Step within to encounter an interior exuding modernity and sophistication, as light grey walls harmonize with earth-toned furnishings. Two capacious bathrooms showcase sleek stainless steel fixtures and marble-grey tiles, complemented by generous mirrors and plush towels for a homely touch. The villa additionally boasts a convivial open-plan living space, marrying the kitchen and dining areas. With comfortable seating, a dining table, and a fully equipped culinary haven, complete with an oven and microwave, this space accommodates every need. Savour meals indoors or beneath the sheltered al fresco tableau, both affording a chance to soak in the enchanting panoramas. An outdoor grill and seating enclave await, ideal for culinary adventures and relaxation alike.
Be it a vigorous session in the villa's fitness centre, languid poolside hours engrossed in holiday literature, or local exploration, Villa Faralya rises to the occasion. Mere moments from sandy shores, historical landmarks, and picturesque hiking routes, as well as an array of shops, eateries, and local markets, the villa ensures a harmonious blend of repose and discovery.
What you should know…
- The villa is sitting pretty in the hillside and is on a slight incline so shoes with a good grip could be useful.
- The location of the villa means that a car is a necessity to reach local attractions and the nearest beaches in Oludeniz. Faralya is a beautiful area, enhanced by it's cliff-top position. The approaching road can be difficult for even the most experienced driver, especially in the dark. We'd say a car is essential but recommend booking a transfer from the airport and having the car delivered to the villa

This realm is a utopia for avid ramblers, as it lies in proximity to portions of the renowned Lycian Way trail. This scenic path meanders through towering pine groves, olive orchards, fields ablaze with wildflowers, and the humble abodes of shepherds, affording unassuming yet picturesque lodgings by the coastline. Of notable allurements along this path are the enigmatic Kayaköy ghost village and the ancient enclave of Tlos, which bestows breathtaking vistas overlooking the valley of Xanthos.

Fethiye
Situated on the ancient city of Telmessos, Fethiye is named after one of its most famous ‘sons’, the aviator Fethi Bey. An earthquake in 1957 damaged central Fethiye, so many of its buildings have been built since then. You can, however, see a Lycian theatre, Lycian tombs (including the rock tomb of Amyntas) and visit the Fethiye museum for more history and artefacts. The centre of Fethiye boasts a covered market area, half of which is given over to the local fish market where you can choose your catch from one of the centre stalls and then get it cooked in any of the surrounding restaurants. The whole of the area is shadowed by the mountain of Babadag where paragliders take to the skies, landing on the beach at Olu Deniz.
Fethiye’s Tuesday market is worth a visit. Traders come from the outlying villages to sell the wares from their smallholdings. Furrowed browed men with cloth caps, and ladies in floral bloomers will sell their produce amongst the lads trying to get you to buy their designer fakes! It’s all in good humour. Try a little bartering and see if you can do some good business. Go to the spice stall and you will get some amazing spices. Look for the Kar Serbeti, like a cinnamon slush or Ayran, a salty yoghurt drink both guaranteed to cool you down.
Olu Deniz & Calis are where people tend to flock for a beach but there are now a few private beach clubs along the coast between Olu Deniz and Fethiye which are worth a visit. There are also beach clubs situated around the lagoon, all with sunbeds, restaurants and drinks service. Hisaronu is more commercialised and hosts a large selection of bars, restaurants and gift shops.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesWith safe sandy swimming beaches and plenty of exciting natural and historic sites nearby, Faralya is an ideal location for a family-friendly holiday. You can visit Butterfly Valley in the foothill of the Bagadag mountains to spot the myriad of butterfly species (there are 105 to see), swim in the blue waters there, relax on the sands or walk the trail in the valley that leads to two small waterfalls.
For fun days trip, jump on a boat to Gemiler island with archaeological ruins and plenty of quiet spots for swimming and snorkelling. The Blue Lagoon at Oludeniz and Belcekiz beach are the most popular beaches, and there are plenty of opportunities at both to take part in water sports like sea kayaking and paragliding. There are also a couple of water parks in the area.
In the cooler months, you can go mountain biking in the foothills of the mountains. For ancient culture, the ruins including Lycian tombs and a fortress at Tlos promise an exciting day out.

One of the most famous features of Faralya is the Butterfly Valley (Kelebekler Vadisi). This secluded canyon is named after the numerous species of butterflies that inhabit the area during the warmer months. It can be reached by boat or a challenging hike.

Superb
Tarik was an amazing host who responded to all our requests within 5 minutes. The villa was superb. All the furnishing and amenities are top-notch, modern, clean, and beautiful. Our stay was like a 5-star hotel, anything that you would need is there, from the grill barbeque to the hairdryer. The gym and the pool make it extra special. The views of the sea and sunset when you lounge by the pool, are breathtaking. I would highly recommend Tarik and his place to anyone. The area around the villa is safe and quiet surrounded by majestic pine forests and mountains, and lots of great places to eat and drink nearby, there are two beaches that are within a 15-minute drive with spectacular views over the sea. We loved our stay and Tarik was a wonderful, caring host!

Great Hospitality
Amazing hospitality. The villa itself is just as the photos show: spacious, and with all modern conveniences with an amazing view over the sea and mountainside. It's situated within Faralya about a 20 minute drive from Oludeniz along winding mountainside roads; a perfect respite from the bustle of the city but close enough by car or bus.
We had an incredible time and would recommend Villa Faralya to anyone wanting to holiday in this part of Turkey.
