The villa is set in the hills of Butterfly Valley and enjoys breathtaking panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the dramatic Lycian Way coastline. In Oludeniz, you will find one of the world’s best sandy beaches, lively seashore restaurants and bars, and exclusive souvenir shops. Hop aboard a water taxi to Gemile Island, aka Aya Nikola, a natural protected area, now an open-air museum.
Take the cable car to the top of Mount Babadag, at almost two thousand metres, you can jump off and paraglide solo or in tandem and land on Oludeniz beach. For shopping and the city, Fethiye is your destination, a harbour town that is home to an ancient amphitheatre, a historical museum and rock tombs, a foodie-heaven fish market, fabulous fashion and souvenir shops, and a marina where you can embark on the twelve island boat trip. Hike the Lycian Way and lose yourselves in ancient Greek, Roman, and Byzantine ruins. Enjoy a traditional Turkish hammam with bubbles galore and an invigorating massage. Fethiye
Situated on the ancient city of Telmessos, Fethiye is named after one of its most famous ‘sons’, the aviator Fethi Bey. An earthquake in 1957 damaged central Fethiye, so many of its buildings have been built since then. You can, however, see a Lycian theatre, Lycian tombs (including the rock tomb of Amyntas) and visit the Fethiye museum for more history and artefacts. The centre of Fethiye boasts a covered market area, half of which is given over to the local fish market where you can choose your catch from one of the centre stalls and then get it cooked in any of the surrounding restaurants. The whole of the area is shadowed by the mountain of Babadag where paragliders take to the skies, landing on the beach at Olu Deniz.
Fethiye’s Tuesday market is worth a visit. Traders come from the outlying villages to sell the wares from their smallholdings. Furrowed browed men with cloth caps, and ladies in floral bloomers will sell their produce amongst the lads trying to get you to buy their designer fakes! It’s all in good humour. Try a little bartering and see if you can do some good business. Go to the spice stall and you will get some amazing spices. Look for the Kar Serbeti, like a cinnamon slush or Ayran, a salty yoghurt drink both guaranteed to cool you down.
Olu Deniz & Calis are where people tend to flock for a beach but there are now a few private beach clubs along the coast between Olu Deniz and Fethiye which are worth a visit. There are also beach clubs situated around the lagoon, all with sunbeds, restaurants and drinks service. Hisaronu is more commercialised and hosts a large selection of bars, restaurants and gift shops.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesThere’s so much for kids to do in and around the area. Play in the villa’s private pool, and there are no set hours when it’s your own. Butterfly Valley is on your doorstep, take the water taxi from Oludeniz to identify over eighty species of butterflies.
They’ll love the Oludeniz Beach Clubs, with easy access to the sea and family-friendly water sports. All aboard one of the many boat trips from Fethiye harbour, or for those who are after adventure, river rafting may be more their thing. Your daredevils will jump at the chance of jumping off Babadag mountain and paragliding down to Oludeniz beach or simply ride the cable car up the mountain and admire the scenery.
There’s the opportunity to snorkel, scuba dive, or take a PADI diving course and discover the delights of a different world. Don’t miss a visit to Saklikent and Gizlikent Gorges, walk down fast-flowing rivers to cooling waterfalls. Discover Dalyan, where you can wallow in mud baths, then sail down the river past ancient rock tombs to Iztuzu, the famous turtle nesting beach. Get on your horse and ride it at the local pony trekking club.
Hire quad bikes, go off-road driving and ride the dunes, or join a jeep safari where you can motor around Mugla and see ancient sites. Spend the day at Kayakoy, the local ghost village, and once home to both Greek and Turkish families, abandoned in 1922, it is now an open-air museum. Walk part of the Lycian Way for a flavour of the original Turkey. Enjoy a traditional family fun Turkish hammam, with lots of bubbles and a mini massage too.

Five Stars!
Our family of five had an unforgettable stay at Villa Mudo. The villa is beautifully appointed, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like a true home away from home. The tasteful decor and well-equipped & high tech amenities meant we lacked for nothing. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, we enjoyed countless evenings watching the sun set gloriously over the sea, from the infinity pool or comfortable gazebo – it’s a view that never gets old.
Our host was exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. He recommended some fantastic local spots, with Nihan’s being a standout for us. While it’s a bit of a drive to the nearest town, this peaceful setting was exactly what we wanted. Just take care with the traffic (and wing mirrors!) when navigating out of Ölüdeniz.
Overall, Villa Mudo is a perfect blend of tranquility, comfort, and style. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in beautiful surroundings.

Cosy villa in a blissful location with the best host
We visited as a family of four (mum, dad and two young children) and had the most amazing time in this blissful villa.
The Villa – spread over 3 floors, this villa lacked no amenity for us. In fact it has more than we expected. We even used the washing machine on our last day to save us the post-holiday laundry choir! The décor is warm with a cosy feel. Each of the bedrooms had its own balcony which was quite nice. The beds were of decent comfort with no shortage of duvets, pillows, cushions, etc. The living area has nice comfy sofas and a smart tv but we plugged in our Firestick. The pool was the perfect size for us and the lounging areas around the pool very nice to have drinks/evening tea or even meals. The views of the sea from the villa are breathtaking.
The location – this is set away from the hustle of Oludeniz and Fethiye town in a very tranquil village. The surrounding villas seemed to accommodate families only i.e. there we no late night parties or anything of the sort we observed. It’s a 20-30-min drive from Oludeniz which is the closest town, and 50mins-1 hour from Fethiye town. There are local small supermarkets for basic things like bread, milk, eggs, etc. There is also an amazing restaurant close by which I would highly recommend for all meals.
The host – the best part of the holiday. Ronald was amazing from the start to ensure our every need was catered to. He contacted us beforehand to check if we needed any pre-arrival supermarket supplies which he duly honoured. Ronald greeted us at arrival, walked us around the villa and was available for anything during the entirety of our stay. Ronald gave us great advice on places to visit, how to visit them, recommendations on restaurants, etc. We found that he was as involved or as distant as we preferred. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and that is on full display as a host.
Overall – if/when we visit Fethiye again, we would certainly be staying at Ronald’s villa again. -
Best villa to stay in Faralya
We booked Villa Mudo for our family holiday end of April this year. It was the best decision ever! The villa had the most scenic views of not only the sea but also the mountains. It was spacious, comfortable and had all the amenities that we needed for our stay. Ronald (the owner) was very kind and helpful. He kept checking on us throughout our stay. We can not recommend the villa enough. There were loads of good places to eat around the villa with the best views. Oludeniz beach is just 15 minutes away. We will definitely book this villa again for our holiday.
